How metrd records solar output readings.

metrd polls the pv_power register every few seconds and writes the raw watt value to the local database. No smoothing or averaging is applied.

What is recorded

• Instantaneous power in watts (pv_power)
• Timestamp of each poll in UTC

When readings are zero

The inverter reports zero output during night hours and when irradiance is below the start threshold. metrd records these zeros faithfully rather than omitting them.

Note: Some inverters report a small non-zero value at dawn and dusk due to capacitor bleed. This is normal.
